About the Event

**REGISTRATION CLOSES ON FRIDAY 22 OCTOBER**

This workshop is suitable for early learning and primary school educators and leaders looking to implement an evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) program as well as practitioners working with children in small group settings to improve social-emotional skills outside the classroom. It is also suitable for any educators who are already teaching the Second Step program and would like to learn more about the program and best practices for implementing social and emotional learning in their school and classroom.

We are pleased to have special guests Ros Green, a Guidance Officer at Belmont State School share her experience from piloting the Second Step program to whole-school implementation. Learn how Belmont State School has successfully integrated Second Step SEL within the PBL framework.

Why choose Second Step?

The school-wide Second Step evidence-based program is designed to increase school readiness and social success, decrease problem behaviours and promote self-regulation skills and social-emotional competence.

Social and emotional learning concepts provide an extra dimension to education, focusing on improving co-operation, communication, and decision making. In a world where emotional intelligence is critical for lifelong happiness, successful careers, and healthier relationships, SEL gives students a framework for developing these skills.
